Shell Vessel Workshop

Join Emily in her home studio for a fun and relaxing session where you will create your very own shell vessel.

In this workshop Emily will guide you through the process from beginning to end offering support as needed. You will learn how to apply decorative additions to the surface of your vessel like handles and shell forms and lean into intuitive mark making to create a beautiful and unique finished piece. This workshop is open to all levels beginner to advanced. It’s all about enjoying the process of creating.

When

Saturday June 7th 10am - 1pm

What you will get from this session

  • 1.5kg of clay and the use of tools and moulds for the duration of the workshop

  • You will construct a small/medium vessel using various hand building techniques

  • Use press moulds to create surface texture, pattern and decoration to your piece

  • You will finish the class having one hand built pieces that Emily will fire and glaze for you to pick up/mail out to you at a later date (the glazing and firing process takes 2 to 4 weeks to complete. Shipping costs are extra and to be paid by student).

  • Morning tea provided (please let me know if you have any dietary requirements one week prior to the workshop)

What to bring

Apron and old towel/hand towel

Please wear closed toed shoes and clothing that you don't mind getting dirty

The studio is located in Lilydale, Victoria. Address will be supplied by email before your workshop.
